Don’t you think that a one-day cruise on three magnificent islands of Saronic Gulf with Evermore Cruises is a tempting suggestion?
If your summer holidays are a long time off, this will be an escape that will offer you a lot of wonderful images. I had the chance to experience this cruise with my friends from the Travel Blogger Greece.
It was a sunny day of May when we boarded on Cosmos by the marina of Kallithea. We were keeping our cameras on hands and we were so glad. We knew that we’d have a lot to see and much more to remember of that day.
Of course, the first thing that attracted our attention was the ship. Once we found our seats at VIP saloon and we had coffees and juices we decided to explore the ship’s spaces. We visited the bridge and the VIP cabin which is designed to provide seclusion and relaxation to the passenger.
Hydra with its wonderful mansions was our first stop-over. You can find out what to see or do in Hydra by reading my previous article. The ship lays up for two hours so you have plenty of time to saunter about the island’s alleys.
On our way to the next bound, we enjoyed a delicious lunch. The willing and smiling crew did its best to please us and to offer us whatever we needed.
Another beautiful island in the Saronic Gulf is Poros. It is well known for its lemon forest. Here, the ship lays up for one hour, but you have time to walk through the alleys with the beautiful houses. You may also climb on the highest point to see the famous historical Clock Tower of Poros.
Back to the ship, sweets and fruits waited for us. I couldn’t decide which to pick.
Last stop is Aegina. Here, Cosmos lays up in the port for two hours and there is plenty of time to explore the island. You can walk or visit the Aphaia’s Temple and the Monastery of Saint Nektarios if you prefer a guided tour. Don’t forget to buy the famous Aegina’s Pistachios. They sell them in kiosks at the port, but you can find them in the most of the shops.
Apart from the visits in these three beautiful islands, the passengers can enjoy live music, songs and traditional dances. May be for us the Greeks this kind of entertainment seems rather tourist, but it is amusing and offers a note of joy.
So, if your summer holidays are a long time off, you can enjoy a full day visiting three of the most beautiful islands of the Saronic Gulf with Evermore Cruises.
Have you ever had the experience of a one day cruise? What were your impressions?
* I was honoured to be a guest of Evermore Cruises but as always all opinions in this article are my own.
